Aquilotti clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. S. D'Antuono was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. M. Davoli was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when J. Ijäs was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 34 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! The terraces were silenced after 37 minutes when Aquilotti's G. Donoso put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. J. Ijäs was, after 39 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper G. Galfano made the save. After 41 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave S. Molinaro a chance to increase the lead for Aquilotti, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. After this, you could see that the players of Aquilotti were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. It was obvious that team Aquilotti had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. With 44 minutes played, G. Donoso nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Aquilotti had most of the ball, with 78 percent of possession.

V. van Ostaaijen of Aquilotti took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 74 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. Aquilotti players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. The visitors' A. Petkov took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 79 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Aquilotti. Aquilotti had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 84 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for V. van Ostaaijen who increased Aquilotti's lead to 0 - 5. With 87 minutes played, Aquilotti put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was W. Levisto. There was concern in the stands when, at the 88 minute mark, Aquilotti's A. Petkov hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Possession in this half belonged to Aquilotti, who controlled the ball 83 percent of the time.

Most important Castellina player was F. Lionello. However, G. Di Bartolo made a disastrous appearance. Aquilotti's top performer was clearly B. Brandt. K. Sparks was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 6.
