Clear skies welcomed the 19532 spectators who had made their way to Combattenti Riuniti. Jürgen Epple was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ricardo Frívida and Nest Michel. A 4-3-3 alignment was the formation of choice for CCCP FC. Starters: Guerinoni - Lombardi, Jabbalah, Caricasulo, Schmidt von Altenstadt - Sommerfeldt, De Camillis, Soto - Salas, Gullgård, Biague.

A.S. tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Lindroos - Pizzuti, Silverbeck, Klein, Grast - Romeral, Brandsma, Penciu, Puigdemuls - Seelaus, Sela.

CCCP FC clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. A.S. were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. A.S.'s À. Puigdemuls got himself booked for a foul. A.S. were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. A. Salas caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 29 minutes. This gave CCCP FC the 1 - 0 lead. There was concern in the stands when, at the 31 minute mark, A.S.'s M. Penciu hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

CCCP FC were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. A. Salas could have increased the lead after 60 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. What ever got into A. Lombardi, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of A.S.'s T. Seelaus, who easily put the ball away for 1 - 1 after 64 minutes. 78 minutes into the game, T. Silverbeck had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. M. Penciu had a good try after 81 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. 87 minutes into the game, V. Pizzuti was a hair's breadth away from giving A.S. the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by G. Guerinoni saved the home team that time. Possession in this half belonged to A.S., who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

CCCP FC's top performer was clearly V. Soto. C. Biague turned in a dismal performance, however. J. Brandsma performed admirably for A.S.. On the other hand, J. Grast's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 1.
