Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Saxum, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Some great play up the middle by Saxum led to a chance for B. Guimarães to score after 10 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. There was concern in the stands when, at the 12 minute mark, Saxum's E. Uzal hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. It was obvious that team Saxum had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. NaplesXxX almost scored after a swift counterattack 20 minutes into the game, but J. Kat put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. L. Grosics was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 35 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Saxum fans erupted in celebration as E. Uzal rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0! Things were going to get worse for the visitors. D. Appelhof squirmed through their central defence after 37 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Saxum claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

B. Sandu had a fantastic opportunity to put Saxum up another goal 51 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. With 52 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of NaplesXxX resulted in a counterattack that set G. Gasperi free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Saxum's R. Friman swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. B. Sandu was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Saxum's L. Grosics managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 3 - 0 A great save by keeper U. Varchi after 72 minutes kept the visitors in the game after R. Friman struck from the left with a real cannonball. The home side's E. Uzal curled a free kick home after 77 minutes, putting Saxum ahead 4 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Saxum were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
