Montemigliore 1 - 5 GENUA
(382008816)

16-06-2012 12.55
6303 punters turned up at
OVO STADIUM, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Christoph Motter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bartosz Nowaczyk and
Torquato Quadrio Curzo.
Montemigliore started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Del Piero - Giordano, Eusebi, Busi - Lelli, Faieta, Del priore, Secchi - Remia, Köder, Schiappi.
GENUA tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
They fielded: Ilievski - Valdovinos, Bodzás, Hoenderken - Álvarez, Schrammel, Ciszewski, Tranchese - Batlle, Stav, Bolognesi.
The wings were the focus of most of Montemigliore's attacks today.
The visiting
Q. Batlle was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 7 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
G. Bolognesi received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 20 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The GENUA fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
After 32 minutes, GENUA's
G. Bolognesi burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3.
O. Köder tried to get a goal back for Montemigliore but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move.
Montemigliore's
L. Remia found himself alone on the left side 38 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
39 minutes into the game Montemigliore broke through on the left wing and
L. Remia managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 3.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Lelli got himself booked. The manager of Montemigliore was not happy.
1 - 3 was the halftime score.
GENUA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
After 55 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
A. Stav a chance to increase the lead for GENUA, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Q. Batlle was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 68 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
Given a free kick close to the byline, GENUA tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
A. Stav slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 5, 69 minutes into the game.
By now, the players in GENUA felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
V. Bodzás was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
S. Del Piero made the save.
GENUA had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
Montemigliore's top performer was clearly
L. Remia.
C. Eusebi turned in a dismal performance, however.
GENUA's best player was
Q. Batlle.
However,
F. Schrammel made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 5.
