Tritos refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 27 minutes. NERD increased their lead after 34 minutes when A. Simoni broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. A. Simoni increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by NERD, with 64 percent of the ball.

After 49 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave C. Tritos a chance to increase the lead for NERD, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, NERD's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. After 53 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Conoscenti was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. Skwara wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for N. Jukola after 58 minutes. With things not going too well on the field, the Conoscenti coach made the decision to swap the positions of T. Apostol and G. Palma with 60 minutes played. Conoscenti needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes F. Mateuţ made way for A. Lloberes. The coach of NERD was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up.
