The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 4504 had shown up at F.C. Rep.del Salento Arena for the match. By now, the players in Ompres felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 37 minutes, Ompres's K. Bitok burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. Rep.del's B. Marconi was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 38 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Ompres, who controlled the ball 81 percent of the time.

A drive down the left side allowed A. Silvestroni to get in close and score another goal for Ompres after 66 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. With 70 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, D. Toniutti needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. O. Cuccurullo of Rep.del received a yellow card after 72 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. G. Fadale increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 6. Ompres came close to extending their lead as D. Toniutti delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 77 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Ompres were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. 79 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 7 as E. Marcassoli finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, K. Bitok got himself booked. The manager of Ompres was not happy. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ompres, with 86 percent of the ball.
