The wings were the focus of most of gazzafc's attacks today. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Trani. After 4 minutes, Trani put themselves up 0 - 1, as T. Taweesuk finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. 10 minutes in, and gazzafc were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when S. Kuhlkamp picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. The gazzafc free kick 19 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of S. Sampaio, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 1! T. Taweesuk of Trani received a yellow card after 20 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Trani's V. Popov made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 23 minutes into the match. gazzafc put in a good effort on the right, but S. Sampaio saw his volley fly wide of the mark 24 minutes into the game. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by gazzafc, with 74 percent of the ball.

The gazzafc players could smell victory in the air. N. Bier wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for S. Liventsev after 46 minutes. F. Krystkowiak wanted to play on, but the gazzafc coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by S. D'Antona. gazzafc managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when G. Chinigò cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Confident in their lead, gazzafc's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 61 minutes played, gazzafc's P. Medeiros almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Cheers filled the stadium as S. Kuhlkamp broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to gazzafc. gazzafc's S. D'Antona got himself booked for a foul. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 70 minutes, gazzafc did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, G. Chinigò was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 5 - 1. gazzafc enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

S. Kuhlkamp performed admirably for gazzafc. J. Fres Jaramillo turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Trani player was K. Czapiga. M. Casapietra was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
