(382067970)

14-07-2012 13.00
13529 punters turned up at
Lollo Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Per Bergskär was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Robert-Jan de Zwart and
Dante Carraro.
CALCIO had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Chapeu - Reil, Isaundariaga, Chechko - Costes, Bakens, Lucansky, Piulats, van Loon - Binko, Rödl.
Arenova tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Vila - Bertuccio, Carsughi, Giangu, Silletti - Racca, Gambirasio, Camerini, Baldini - Bua, Annunziata.
CALCIO mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
P. Chechko, but the CALCIO player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
F. Costes unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 33 minutes, Arenova tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
The referee showed CALCIO's
L. Piulats the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
CALCIO had most of the ball, with 75 percent of possession.
CALCIO solidified their lead at the 48 minute mark, as
S. Binko dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of CALCIO were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Arenova's
E. Bertuccio got himself booked for a foul.
CALCIO managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
A. Lucansky cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
CALCIO put themselves up 4 - 0 when
L. Piulats broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
B. Rödl increased the lead for CALCIO to 5 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
CALCIO enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 76 percent of possession.
Most important CALCIO player was
P. Chechko.
B. Rödl turned in a dismal performance, however.
Arenova's best player was
G. Annunziata.
On the other hand,
L. Giangu's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 0.
