(382120280)

14-07-2012 13.05
Clear skies welcomed the 4839 spectators who had made their way to
XXSettembre.
Carrol Linder was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Luke von Breitungen and
Markus Singh.
MilanMatera had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Marras - Sobrinho, van Meerkerk, Indlekofer - Donnarumma, Rovandi, Ingvason, Zingaretti, Tripodi - Guanaes, Sumant.
FrancescoAntonio decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Maugeri - Capomagi, Risi, Pizzarelli, Galeandro - Casalini, Olivato, Carpinteri, Pietrangiolillo - Comina, Graziosi.
The wings were the focus of most of MilanMatera's attacks today.
A. Sumant gave MilanMatera the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
Players in MilanMatera heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as MilanMatera scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
P. Guanaes after 21 minutes.
By now, the players in MilanMatera felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
With 33 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
G. Olivato needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
FrancescoAntonio's
C. Risi left the field after 38 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
V. Belgrano.
Ater 39 minutes
V. Belgrano seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for FrancescoAntonio making it 2 - 1.
After 40 minutes FrancescoAntonio's
R. Galeandro contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
MilanMatera had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
Cheers filled the stadium as
D. Zingaretti broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to MilanMatera.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
S. Pizzarelli got himself booked. The manager of FrancescoAntonio was not happy.
S. Zanellato was called on to replace MilanMatera's
J. Indlekofer after 82 minutes following a nasty collision.
MilanMatera's
G. Donnarumma saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 85 minutes.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
F. Rovandi from MilanMatera a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 86 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 87 minutes,
P. Guanaes put MilanMatera ahead 4 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
With 88 minutes played, MilanMatera's
G. Tripodi almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
Possession in this half belonged to MilanMatera, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.
MilanMatera's top performer was clearly
A. Sumant.
R. Marras was a disappointment, however.
FrancescoAntonio's best player was
C. Comina.
On the other hand,
G. Maugeri's play was disheartening.
The match ends 4 - 1.
