Clouds darkened the skies at
Braciola boys Arena as 5997 spectators turned up for the match.
Lutz Arthofer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ilyas Lienberger and
Hamish Lyon.
Braciola started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Vadalà - Raiola, Fibra, Brancasi - Rango, Malteni, Moro Visconti, Chittano, Shushku - Tedesco, Salati.
Marra92 had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
They fielded: Di Maio - Sirocchi, Giantomasi, Maresca, Achenza - Bizzozero, Cavo, Resti, Ganassali - Cimbalo, Santirocchi.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Braciola tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
A. Fibra slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 4 minutes into the game.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Braciola scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
M. Salati after 18 minutes.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 19 minutes, Braciola did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
V. Raiola was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0.
The players of Braciola now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
A. Malteni should probably have put his team up another goal after 21 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
L. Di Maio kept the visitors in the game.
M. Salati's lightning pace was too much for
F. Maresca who could only look on as the Braciola player blasted one home. 4 - 0.
After 26 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
M. Salati might have resulted in another goal for Braciola. However,
L. Di Maio made a spectacular save.
It was 4 - 0 at the break.
Braciola had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.
Braciola's
A. Fibra had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 47 minutes having been played.
G. Meoni was the replacement.
V. Raiola was handed the Braciola captain's armband.
59 minutes into the match
N. Moro Visconti put Braciola ahead 5 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick.
Coming from the right,
M. Salati almost managed to score another goal for Braciola, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
C. Tedesco of Braciola received a yellow card after 72 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
With 77 minutes played, Braciola's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
M. Salati he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 6 - 0.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
M. Salati.
Braciola solidified their lead at the 78 minute mark, as
A. Shushku dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 7 - 0.
Braciola enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.
Most important Braciola player was
C. Tedesco.
On the other hand,
A. Shushku's play was disheartening.
Marra92's top performer was clearly
R. Santirocchi.
However,
S. Giantomasi made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 7 - 0.
