2506 fans braved the pouring rain at
DUX.
Dominik Dulski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Aleksejs Plučs and
Alfonso Saldés.
Lombardia had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Stevanella - Bentili, Albani, Morandi, Sassu - Colavito, Segatori, Summo, Radessich - Di Domenico, Propersi.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for inazuma.
Starters: Lipparini - Majer, Rumiati, Scalese, Fruet - Mazzarotto, Mezzatesta, Giberti, Menardo - Coppola, Meletti.
Lombardia took the lead 2 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
M. Radessich elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
After 3 minutes inazuma's
Y. Giberti limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
After 10 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
P. Propersi gave the Lombardia supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
Cheers filled the stadium as
R. Bentili broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Lombardia.
M. Scalese was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Lombardia to 4 - 0 as
M. Radessich finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
The players of Lombardia now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Lombardia's
P. Sassu got himself booked for a foul.
Coming from the right,
S. Di Domenico almost managed to score another goal for Lombardia, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
4 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Lombardia enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 72 percent of possession.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Lombardia scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
G. Segatori after 48 minutes.
52 minutes into the match,
R. Bentili could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar.
The Lombardia free kick 59 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
S. Di Domenico, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 6 - 0!
61 minutes into the game,
M. Lipparini had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
E. Censi.
Lombardia increased the lead as
P. Sassu struck to make the score 7 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lombardia, with 75 percent of the ball.
Most important Lombardia player was
P. Propersi.
P. Stevanella turned in a dismal performance, however.
inazuma's best player was
M. Mazzarotto.
C. Majer was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 7 - 0.
