Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 10767 at Groane's Stadium today. Tor Flinkwald was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Liljenér and Roberto Rodrigues. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Lombardia derby and the crowd was divided evenly. SB tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Vrintz - McClelland, Biagiotti, Harding, Stoccoro - Bove, Martino, Cena, Rodella - Eufemi, Zorzon.

MilanoSCCAM decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Starters: Ambrosin - Böger, Vakalos - Zeyer, Lönnhall, Viaplana, Mironchikov, Kiener - Casiraghi, Dutertre, Sanfilippo.

MilanoSCCAM mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E. Zeyer from MilanoSCCAM a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 4 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! SB were forced into a substitution as E. Bove couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing V. Maille to come in off the bench. E. Eufemi gave SB the lead with a beautiful free kick after 11 minutes. 1 - 0! F. Kiener sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from N. Casiraghi after 27 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 1. The unexpected cross pass from MilanoSCCAM's D. Viaplana after 29 minutes opened up the defence and was received by M. Sanfilippo who finished off for 1 - 2. After 40 minutes of play, G. Rodella evened things up for SB with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. SB broke through on the left 42 minutes into the game, with V. Maille firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead. 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SB, with 69 percent of the ball.

SB managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when G. Zorzon cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. With 60 minutes played, S. McClelland of SB fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. E. Eufemi's curling free kick almost found the goal for SB, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. SB increased the lead as G. Rodella struck to make the score 5 - 2 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. E. Böger of MilanoSCCAM received a yellow card after 74 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. D. Viaplana seemed highly inexperienced when, after 75 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed N. Cena to intercept and strike home the goal for SB to make the score 6 - 2. By now, the players in SB felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. SB put themselves up 7 - 2 when G. Zorzon broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. SB had most of the ball, with 71 percent of possession.

L. Stoccoro performed admirably for SB. V. Maille on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important MilanoSCCAM player was M. Sanfilippo. However, P. Lönnhall made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 7 - 2.
