Albericci of Manchester fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 21 minutes into the game, S. De Colibus had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. S. Taffetani of Mommotti received a yellow card after 26 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Mommotti's B. Bosotti left the field after 30 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was E. Giobatta. Mommotti took the lead after 38 minutes making the score 0 - 1. S. Taffetani placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Mommotti had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

M. Bianco received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 65 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Mommotti fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. S. Falbo of Manchester was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. G. Albericci's inexperience was obvious when his continual hesitation to put in a tackle allowed F. Gavanelli plenty of time to pick an unguarded area of the goal for his shot, marking one for Mommotti. 0 - 3. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 80 minutes, Mommotti did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, S. De Colibus was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 4. The visitors' L. Pietrangiolillo took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 82 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Mommotti. After 85 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave T. Rebecchi a chance to increase the lead for Mommotti, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. Confident in their lead, Mommotti's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 86 minutes played, L. Pietrangiolillo nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mommotti, with 70 percent of the ball.

Manchester's best player was R. Mazzurana. F. Giannerini on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Mommotti player was C. Zorino. E. Giobatta was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 6.
