Gecaj got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. karmeliet took the lead 28 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as G. Marasca elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. karmeliet's H. Prošel swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. After 36 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by G. Rasicci. Halftime score was 1 - 1. karmeliet claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

karmeliet fans held their breath as G. Marasca scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 2 - 1! C. Piano should probably have put his team up another goal after 69 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by D. Farina kept the visitors in the game. A great save by keeper D. Farina after 74 minutes kept the visitors in the game after D. Torda struck from the left with a real cannonball. The visiting team's D. Pedota was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 78 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. Possession in this half belonged to karmeliet, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Most important karmeliet player was C. Giani. On the other hand, C. Piano's play was disheartening. Pachino's best player was A. Ferlini. G. Rasicci turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
