The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 25052 had shown up at Heroes Arena for the match. Renato Pietro Brambilla was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Donny Endevoets and Robert Fackelmann. Heroes had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Today, Tekstilac's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 9 minutes, Heroes tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. After 10 minutes, V. Vlaykov came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Heroes the lead. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Heroes scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for A. Marković after 14 minutes. Coming from the right, W. Jacarandá almost managed to score another goal for Heroes, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Heroes, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Heroes's W. Jacarandá saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 58 minutes. After 59 minutes, the defensive line of Tekstilac created a counterattack through the middle that gave D. Arıker a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. The crowd roared its approval when C. Ercolano somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Tekstilac's D. Arıker 66 minutes into the game. After 69 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by G. Rexhepi might have resulted in another goal for Heroes. However, R. Purkess made a spectacular save. C. Ercolano made a brilliant save 79 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from G. Cubells on the right hand side. A crazy pass by V. Vlaykov towards his own keeper almost caused a goal for Tekstilac, but S. Buķels didn't get the finish right. Tekstilac kept trying to force their way through on the right side and H. Anunciação got his chance after 87 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

A. Marković performed admirably for Heroes. C. Ercolano turned in a dismal performance, however. Tekstilac's best player was J. Kachelrieß. However, V. Albijanić made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 0.
