Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 28128 at Tanjirche today. Gian Reto Saam was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marek Klaper and Javier Griguol. People from all over Novi Sad had joined up for the derby. VIRSLICE started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. They fielded: de Paula - Buchas, Vargas, Wilke - Paszczyk, Lazović, Radinović, Baljić - Vlaović, Philipsborn, Marqués.

Coachs had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Kažić - Drulović, Borýsek, Zirojević, Kramberger, Miličić - Cartagena, Fried, Bleve, Pichler-Schorkopf - Božić.

VIRSLICE used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Coachs. 9 minutes into the game, R. Kramberger had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came M. Vukomanović. Some great play up the middle by VIRSLICE led to a chance for M. Philipsborn to score after 15 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Coachs's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 16 minutes gone, but R. Fried's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. The referee showed VIRSLICE's H. Vargas the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Unfortunately for Coachs, M. Miličić was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. T. Dyr replaced him. 37 minutes into the game, VIRSLICE seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. VIRSLICE's P. Marqués tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. After 39 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as VIRSLICE found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. VIRSLICE enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

The VIRSLICE players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. After a fine move down the middle J. Wilke nearly gave the home side a goal after 50 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. After 51 minutes, the defensive line of Coachs created a counterattack through the middle that gave R. Fried a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Vukomanović from Coachs a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 52 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! In a fantastic display of determination, VIRSLICE's M. Philipsborn forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. Coachs had to make a substitution after 70 minutes. R. Fried limped off the field and was replaced by R. Batliner. V. Borýsek still has a lot to learn. For instance, he should know not to make half-hearted passes in front of M. Philipsborn, who easily scored for VIRSLICE, making it 1 - 0. B. Baljić had a fantastic opportunity to put VIRSLICE up another goal 72 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Sensing defeat in the air, the Coachs manager directed L. Božić and M. Drulović to change positions with each other. This was 77 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the game, VIRSLICE seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 82 minutes, M. Drulović broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. M. de Paula made a great block, though. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by VIRSLICE, with 58 percent of the ball.

VIRSLICE's top performer was clearly M. Philipsborn. However, L. Lazović made a disastrous appearance. Most important Coachs player was B. Bleve. R. Batliner turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 0.
