Colarte tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Conegliano broke through on the left 31 minutes into the game, with P. Mudrov firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. H. Piligyan of Conegliano received a yellow card after 32 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Conegliano took the lead 82 minutes in, as R. Chasarri broke through on the left and put the 2 - 1 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. C. Colarte's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 84 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to R. Chasarri who knocked it in for Conegliano. 3 - 1! P. Ranchev unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Cheers filled the stadium as C. Colarte broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to Conegliano. After 87 minutes, R. Chasarri put Conegliano ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. That made three goals for R. Chasarri and he was marked down for the hat trick. Confident in their lead, Conegliano's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Conegliano had to manage with a reduced squad after 89 minutes, as T. Utribe got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. The pressing tactics used by Conegliano were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Conegliano claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
