(382580445)

28-07-2012 13.25
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 75614 to
Gerena.
Roberto Castro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Laust Danielsen and
Noldi Neble.
LEVSKI tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Larsson - Junaid, Barendsz - Rodrigues, Verheyen, Camacho, Sondermann, Stoichitã - Kalderon, Román, Perchet.
flik started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
Starters: Regué - Atalaya, Pektürk, Methorst, Fiães, Giannerini - Dimitrov, El Makrini, Vrambout, Augusto - Iannuzzi.
For their match strategy, flik had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
5 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for LEVSKI to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
D. Camacho alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
With 7 minutes played
P. Román almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
flik's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing
P. Fiães to score easily from the right flank for 0 - 1.
24 minutes in, flik appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for LEVSKI, but
B. Sondermann's shot went over the bar.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
L. Perchet found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
43 minutes into the match, LEVSKI's
L. Perchet maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1.
44 minutes in, flik's
H. Vrambout received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Making his way up the middle 44 minutes into the match,
L. Rodrigues almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
S. Regué blocked it to keep the score level.
flik's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 44 minutes gone, but
Q. Augusto's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
LEVSKI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 76 percent.
The flik players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
56 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for LEVSKI was
L. Rodrigues.
57 minutes into the game, flik had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
As usual,
J. Methorst tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all.
LEVSKI increased the lead as
H. Junaid struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
flik needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes
H. Vrambout made way for
J. Graversen.
The intense heat forced
G. Stoichitã into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others.
With 73 minutes played, the flik coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
J. Archambaud came on,
T. El Makrini had to leave the fray.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, flik's
P. Fiães was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 81 minutes.
H. Werthern was given a chance to change things around.
flik showed their counterattack skill 82 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
C. Pektürk scoring uncontested for 3 - 2.
D. Camacho increased the lead for LEVSKI to 4 - 2, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 83 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but
S. Regué got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar.
K. Larsson left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
M. Moisander was the replacement.
Possession in this half belonged to LEVSKI, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.
LEVSKI's best player was
Z. Kalderon.
M. Moisander was a disappointment, however.
Most important flik player was
A. Iannuzzi.
J. Methorst turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 4 - 2.
