Tedibor 2 - 0 Zaralii (382580816)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 50960 had shown up at The Colosseum for the match. Carl Hansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Pere Negre and Georges Dukic. Tedibor started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Gushterski - Tashev, Sluijter, Petrov - Trifonov, Todt, Petkov, Grozdanov, Staykov - Cilaurren, Zelenkov.

A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Zaralii. They fielded: Chalúkov - Ulbæk, Krug, Pintér, Bundgaard - Bodura, Reisch, Gijzen, Markov, Riissanen - Ögren.

For their match strategy, Zaralii had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. P. Petrov really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by J. Cilaurren after a corner. They were singing the praises of J. Cilaurren 31 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Tedibor. The referee showed Tedibor's D. Todt the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. M. Zelenkov struck a 30 metre free kick home 34 minutes into the match. 2 - 0 for the home team. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Tedibor had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

J. Cilaurren wanted to play on, but the Tedibor coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by B. Vasilev. The Tedibor captaincy was handed to A. Petkov. With 50 minutes played, the Zaralii coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. G. Santigli came on, H. Gijzen had to leave the fray. 64 minutes in, Tedibor's M. Zelenkov received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Zaralii's H. Ulbæk was shown a yellow card after 65 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Tedibor were forced into a substitution as B. Vasilev couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing R. Yovchev to come in off the bench. Zaralii needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes E. Reisch made way for A. Kondukov. The home side's Y. Tashev came close to extending the lead 72 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but H. Chalúkov managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Possession in this half belonged to Zaralii, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Tedibor's best player was M. Zelenkov. R. Yovchev turned in a dismal performance, however. Zaralii's top performer was clearly V. Markov. However, S. Bodura made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 0.
