Dark skies made the crowd of 24578 at "Dolna" Pećigrad a little nervous, but the rain held off. Ladislav Marušinský was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alex Nóbrega and Nicolau Delcarte. Šišarice had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. The following players took the field: Mechkov - Kalter, Koukku, Mabe, Przetacki, Millet - Velicia, Brites, Petri - Massaux, Minder.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Gorilo. The following players had been chosen: Hovenkamp - Kaphengst, Wolff, Alzogaray - Kolchakov, Radović, Labayen Aranzabe, Oviedo Díaz, Capancioni - Porsuk, Gvozdenović.

Šišarice used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Gorilo were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. 4 minutes into the game, C. Oviedo Díaz was a hair's breadth away from giving Gorilo the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by V. Mechkov saved the home team that time. 26 minutes in, Gorilo's T. Wolff received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The home keeper expected a move to the right, but C. Oviedo Díaz surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 31 minutes into the match. 0 - 1 for Gorilo. With 32 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed D. Radović of Gorilo to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. C. Oviedo Díaz was, after 34 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper V. Mechkov made the save. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Gorilo had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

50 minutes into the match, M. Gvozdenović came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. T. Koukku showed his inexperience when he failed to anticipate the bounce of a high ball, allowing Gorilo's T. Porsuk to take advantage and place a shot into the bottom corner of the goal. 0 - 3. The players of Gorilo now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Šišarice's P. Petri had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 58 minutes having been played. R. Sancerre was the replacement. Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 69 minutes into the match. C. Oviedo Díaz surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. Gorilo were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. V. Mechkov got a fingertip on J. Alzogaray's shot from the left 71 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Good work by the Šišarice defensive line after 72 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found A. Brites alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Gorilo, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. After the ball was lifted in from the left, S. Kolchakov was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 74 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Gorilo increased their lead after 80 minutes when C. Capancioni broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. C. Oviedo Díaz left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 85 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. B. Živadinović was the replacement. The Gorilo captaincy was handed to F. Labayen Aranzabe. Gorilo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

Šišarice's top performer was clearly A. Brites. On the other hand, R. Sancerre's play was disheartening. D. Radović performed admirably for Gorilo. S. Kaphengst was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
