Clouds darkened the skies at Branhati arena as 12000 spectators turned up for the match. Håkan Rosbom was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henry Søltoft and Wolfram Ottlau. F.K.DERBY tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Patko - Ranković, Naumović, Vidaković, Pecelj - Mirković, Džajić, Banović, Rašić - Spahić, Mudrić.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Ufop. Starters: Ivančević - Crnković, Dautbegović, Ratković, Labrović - Stepić, Stojaković, Bjelajac, Korać - Gverić, Turudić.

6 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for F.K.DERBY to take the lead after a good cross from the right found L. Mirković alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when S. Dautbegović slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against S. Patko, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. Many thought D. Rašić ought to have been awarded a penalty 14 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around O. Ivančević after a determined run through the middle. After 15 minutes, the defensive line of Ufop created a counterattack through the middle that gave M. Stepić a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. With 17 minutes played, M. Stepić of Ufop fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 19 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant. M. Ranković easily put the ball away to give the lead to F.K.DERBY. 1 - 0 Things were deteriorating for the away team as F.K.DERBY scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for M. Ranković after 33 minutes. The players of F.K.DERBY now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. A well-executed free kick by M. Ranković after 34 minutes made it 3 - 0 for F.K.DERBY. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for M. Ranković. With 35 minutes played, I. Mudrić could have brought this one home for F.K.DERBY as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. It was 3 - 0 at the break. F.K.DERBY had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

54 minutes in, M. Crnković made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but S. Patko refused to let the ball slip by him. L. Mirković could have increased the lead after 60 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. F.K.DERBY's A. Spahić swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. D. Rašić could have put F.K.DERBY up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 66 minutes. Ufop certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but M. Crnković just wasn't able to finish. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, L. Mirković got himself booked. The manager of F.K.DERBY was not happy. F.K.DERBY enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

F.K.DERBY's top performer was clearly D. Rašić. I. Mudrić turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Ufop player was without a doubt A. Turudić. S. Dautbegović was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
