Clouds darkened the skies at Smrkci Arena as 46884 spectators turned up for the match. Barna Kepe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cosme Morán and Zvezdelin Altúparmakov. Kuba's fine footwork caused nothing but headaches for O. Leszkoven. The keeper wasn't fooled however, and confidently scooped up the ball. Smrkci's F. Boriani refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 43 minutes. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Studenci, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

After 67 minutes, Studenci's G. Valsecchi burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. After 68 minutes of game time, M. Keren had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but A. Eckhoff was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. The goal to make it 1 - 4 was scored by F. Fusé after 69 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Smrkci. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, G. Nourisson would have put Studenci up another goal 71 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Studenci claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

Smrkci's top performer was clearly S. Osmolak. However, G. Messier made a disastrous appearance. Studenci's best player was M. Melamed. On the other hand, K. Kuba's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
