Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 53981 to Ribnik. Bruno Sá was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rafael Undiano and Lois Goekien. After the ball was lifted in from the left, J. Defaye was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 21 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With 33 minutes played, Smrkci put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was M. Wierzowiecki. E. Olteanu did everything he could to get one back for his Kajuhova, but keeper A. Eckhoff denied him with a spectacular block. The home crowd was not impressed when A. Palčok came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 34 minutes. Smrkci were now up 0 - 3. Some fine movement on the left led to a Smrkci goal after 35 minutes, making it 0 - 4. S. Osmolak was noted down as the scorer. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Smrkci lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, G. Korolovszky got himself booked. The manager of Smrkci was not happy. It was 0 - 4 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Smrkci, with 52 percent of the ball.

After 63 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave S. Osmolak a chance to increase the lead for Smrkci, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 5. T. Baurer received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 70 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 6. The Smrkci fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. E. Koch-Jägersberg challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 72 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. H. Hribar could have put his team up another goal 74 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Smrkci increased their lead after 81 minutes when L. Bratko broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay. M. Wierzowiecki increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

Kajuhova's top performer was clearly G. Dubinko. W. Malinowski on the other hand, had a terrible day. Smrkci's best player was S. Osmolak. M. Wierzowiecki was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 8.
