Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 55098 at Cvetličarna today. Sébastien Mehl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Michelangelo Paolinelli and Frederik Antelmann. Vrtnice tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. They fielded: Paşa - Imperi, Patrícia - Rutte, MacLehose, Vedersø, Danielis, Shoemaker - Palmulli, Findiš, Terraseca.

Kajuhova decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Ariel - De Cianni, Koch-Jägersberg - Valdés, Tenhola, Nahk, Koron, Okoren - Olteanu, Dubinko, Cassan.

M. Rutte dispatched a majestic long shot 3 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. 7 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Vrtnice was J. Vedersø. 9 minutes into the match, A. Findiš could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. 12 minutes in, Kajuhova's J. Koron received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. F. Palmulli of Vrtnice had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. Vrtnice claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Kajuhova's E. Valdés managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 50 minutes. 2 - 3. D. Patrícia showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 51 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 3 - 3 equaliser away. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 53 minutes allowed T. Cassan to score for Kajuhova. The scoreboard now read 3 - 4. L. Imperi of Vrtnice seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 4 - 4 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by A. Findiš. Vrtnice had a chance to take the lead after F. van Lunteren's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 70 minutes. M. Okoren had a good try after 72 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. Vrtnice had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

H. MacLehose performed admirably for Vrtnice. F. van Lunteren was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Kajuhova player was without a doubt G. Dubinko. On the other hand, M. Okoren's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 4.
