It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 60485 that came out to
Stadium Concordiae.
Olexandr Nechyporuk was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ryszard Tatur and
Antonio Bonfanti.
All of
Ljubljana was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
Sosed tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
They fielded: Kintzelé - Pugelj, Šupuk - Wiesinger, van den Bergh, Kozlina, Kočevar, Vrhovski - Wild, Sapunarov, Marchèse.
štepanc decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Koturović - Viler, Alblas, Šembera - Inglin, Omotoyossi, Fornels, Bouquet, Strijbos - Taylor, Antohi.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
E. Wiesinger, but the Sosed player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
The visitors didn't give in and, after 29 minutes,
N. Viler got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1.
A foul after 30 minutes resulted in a free kick.
S. van den Bergh cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 2 - 1.
Sosed put themselves up 3 - 1 when
H. Marchèse broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
3 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by štepanc, with 53 percent of the ball.
The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 55 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving
J. Fornels completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper.
J. Wild increased the lead for Sosed to 4 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
E. Wiesinger could have increased the lead after 64 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
The Sosed players could smell victory in the air.
H. Marchèse wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
E. Dernovšek after 70 minutes.
G. Kozlina's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence.
štepanc reduced the lead after 75 minutes to 4 - 2 as
N. Viler easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right.
M. Golob was called on to replace štepanc's
R. Alblas after 82 minutes following a nasty collision.
Possession in this half belonged to Sosed, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
The most dominating Sosed player was without a doubt
J. Wild.
E. Wiesinger on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important štepanc player was
A. Taylor.
M. Golob was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 2.
