It had rained all day, but 61982 hardy fans still made it out to
Random Event.
Ferdinand Vanderlijden was the appointed referee.
Transhumans started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
They fielded: Barzel - Egelmeers, Flemings - Komel, Armillei, Igaz, Øvlisen, Caparvi - Ecker, Riga, Rollwald.
Gradec tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
Starters: Volaj - Pešič, Klun, Obranovič - Potepuh, Nemec, Mujakovič, Botonjič - Sikur, Cergolj, Malovašič.
Gradec's
M. Nemec could have put the guests one up after 11 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
B. Barzel was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
14 minutes into the match, the visiting Gradec made the score 0 - 1 after
T. Pešič executed a perfect free kick.
After 17 minutes of play,
V. Riga evened things up for Transhumans with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1.
The visiting
Z. Malovašič was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 20 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score.
With 36 minutes played,
T. Mujakovič nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
G. Caparvi made a superb strike after 42 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner.
1 - 2 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Transhumans, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
It was a bad day for the usually speedy
T. Mujakovič. The mud seemed to slow him down.
After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 63 minutes into the match, an alert
J. Ecker bagged the ball for Transhumans, levelling the score to 2 - 2.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
B. Cergolj.
Transhumans broke through on the left 71 minutes into the game, with
V. Rollwald firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead.
After 72 minutes, Gradec switched
I. Klun with
E. Zoet, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
After 77 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
M. Nemec made it through the middle and struck home to make it 3 - 3.
Transhumans fans held their breath as
V. Rollwald scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 4 - 3!
Perseverence paid off for Gradec, as their
T. Pešič equalised making it 4 - 4 with a fabulous free kick.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
V. Rollwald, but the Transhumans player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 5 - 4!
That made three goals for
V. Rollwald and he was marked down for the hat trick.
Gradec had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.
V. Riga performed admirably for Transhumans.
J. Egelmeers on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Gradec's best player was
Z. Malovašič.
E. Zoet turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 4.
