Prince 0 - 6 Wboys
(382734114)

21-07-2012 13.20
It had rained all day, but 25973 hardy fans still made it out to
The Prince Pub Arena.
Marc Topf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ben Joshua Faller and
Marcos Sorando.
Prince had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Ulloa - Bidard, Gauvin, Orbáiz - Bousquet, Marenzi, Dolenjc, Dolar, Ringe - Schallenberg, Poinsignon.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Wboys.
Starters: Amintikidis - Dunnet, Delventhal, Roff - Soares, Linkoaho, Boros, Røkke, Shemesh - Hambašić, Mestre.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 7 minutes allowed
Z. Hambašić to score for Wboys. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1.
After 12 minutes, Wboys's
T. Linkoaho burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2.
With 17 minutes gone, Wboys had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
Z. Hambašić did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
The visitors'
E. Roff took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 28 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Wboys.
Z. Hambašić increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 4.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Wboys lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4.
Wboys enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
C. Marenzi challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 56 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it.
Wboys's
T. Linkoaho had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 68 minutes having been played.
P. Fraundorfer was the replacement.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
E. Poinsignon just fine.
After 71 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
I. Soares who increased Wboys's lead to 0 - 5.
With 72 minutes played,
Z. Hambašić nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
72 minutes into the match,
V. Boros came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Z. Hambašić was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 77 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
The Wboys free kick 79 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
Z. Hambašić, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 6!
That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
Z. Hambašić.
Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.
E. Poinsignon performed admirably for Prince.
However,
L. Ringe made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Wboys player was
D. Mestre.
B. Shemesh on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 6.
