Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 46351 at Dule Savić arena today. Grigorios Yiataganis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Giel Dubbeldam and Luka Einschenk. NSSP decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: De Rogatis - Avdić, Paulín, Helved Laursen - Ogrinc, Rojnik, Smonker, Casentini, Peretič - Kovačič, Linhares.

I.M.V. had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Upelj - Volavec, Franko, Kapl, Batalevič - Kos, Florjančič, Grozdnik, Novak - Cantelli, Poljšak.

NSSP's E. Helved Laursen tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. 29 minutes into the game, T. Rojnik had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came M. Kamara. 31 minutes into the game, I.M.V. seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. NSSP took the lead 37 minutes in, as A. Linhares broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. B. Smonker increased the lead for NSSP to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! NSSP's O. Casentini increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 40 minutes. U. Ogrinc of NSSP received a yellow card after 40 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 41 minutes into the match A. Linhares put NSSP ahead 4 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. NSSP claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 89 percent.

The I.M.V. players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. U. Ogrinc left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. R. Vinter was the replacement. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, E. Helved Laursen took over the role of being the NSSP captain. K. Batalevič received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 63 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. NSSP put themselves up 5 - 0 when R. Vinter broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. With 71 minutes played, R. Kovačič could have brought this one home for NSSP as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. R. Grozdnik couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted R. Vinter as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for NSSP - 6 - 0! After this, you could see that the players of NSSP were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. NSSP's R. Vinter saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 73 minutes. 77 minutes into the game, I.M.V. seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. R. Vinter squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 0. This third goal completed a hattrick for R. Vinter. NSSP's A. Linhares was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 84 minutes. Things were deteriorating for the away team as NSSP scored another to make it 8 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for R. Kovačič after 85 minutes. NSSP enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 91 percent of possession.

NSSP's top performer was clearly P. De Rogatis. A. Linhares on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important I.M.V. player was A. Cantelli. On the other hand, J. Upelj's play was disheartening. The match ends 8 - 0.
