16-06-2012 13.45
31414 spectators arrived at
Crematorium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Lars Forsskog was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Baltazar Janikowski and
Axel Verin.
FCT had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Coucke - Bellamoli, Nieuwenburg, Juarrero, Færgemann - Potyka, Kleinlauth, Sushanskiy, Weigl - Gorazd, Lüder.
REMIZERSI started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Markusas - Aronen, Bonsignore, Dias Soares - Fabulić, Axinte, Ståhlstedt, Jansons, Raño - Staicu, Ekhart.
REMIZERSI used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
The home keeper expected a move to the right, but
M. Axinte surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 6 minutes into the match. 0 - 1 for REMIZERSI.
P. Gorazd made a superb strike after 18 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner.
The referee showed REMIZERSI's
W. Ekhart the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
N. Dias Soares of REMIZERSI was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 38 minutes into the match, an alert
E. Kleinlauth bagged the ball for FCT, levelling the score to 1 - 1.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
FCT had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
REMIZERSI's
P. Ståhlstedt could have put the guests one up after 49 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
B. Coucke was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
REMIZERSI had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 59 minutes in when
O. Jansons came up alone against
B. Coucke who managed a block.
With 62 minutes played
A. Juarrero almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors'
V. Markusas was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball.
After 70 minutes, the FCT coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach.
They were singing the praises of
J. Bellamoli 77 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to FCT.
FCT enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
E. Kleinlauth performed admirably for FCT.
B. Potyka on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important REMIZERSI player was
V. Markusas.
L. Raño turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 1.
