Dark skies made the crowd of 47035 at San Justerini & Brooks a little nervous, but the rain held off. Given a free kick close to the byline, Matrukitos tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let P. Houweling slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 13 minutes into the game. Matrukitos's P. Houweling saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 24 minutes. Matrukitos were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 27 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by R. Sequerra. 2 - 0 for the home side. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Matrukitos enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

R. Thrul could have increased the lead after 47 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 55 minutes played, Matrukitos's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to P. Chapar he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 0. C. Frankenberg-Ludwigsdorff had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper P. Palomino was simply unbeatable. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Matrukitos scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for P. Houweling after 72 minutes. Confident in their lead, Matrukitos's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Matrukitos, with 52 percent of the ball.

P. Houweling performed admirably for Matrukitos. R. Iaselli on the other hand, had a terrible day. Gondolin's top performer was clearly S. de Mérode. However, D. Udroiu made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 0.
