Demonios 2 - 4 LArboç (382886574)

Dark skies made the crowd of 37880 at Demonium Coliseum a little nervous, but the rain held off. Juan Leyenda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gustavo Poletti and Richart Schmidl. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Catalunya derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Demonios had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players took the field: Ardines - Gispert, Prada, Drieghe - Olmedo Puig, Plaza, Salgado, Herada - Escurriola, Soto Díez, Larrain.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for LArboç. They fielded: Skwarło - Zeppelin, Parra, Blanco - Pittaluga, Carra, Pulpeiro, Grijalvo, Iacone - Filip, Kolmeijer.

It was an obvious ambition of LArboç to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. 2 minutes into the game, N. Pulpeiro almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. A counterattack by Demonios after 3 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but S. Herada, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Demonios's E. Larrain excelled in some fine tricks that completely confused F. Carra - and the finish was no less spectacular - 1 - 0! The crowd was silenced 24 minutes into the match as the visiting team's F. Carra came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. The guests took the lead 27 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in J. Zeppelin scoring to make it 1 - 2. J. Blanco received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 33 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The LArboç fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After this, you could see that the players of LArboç were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 34 minutes, P. Escurriola had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Demonios with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Halftime score was 1 - 3. LArboç enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper P. Skwarło and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Demonios, but L. Soto Díez's finish was way too lame. A penalty was awarded after 58 minutes, and A. Parra made the most of his chance to put LArboç up by another goal. 1 - 4 for the visitors. The coach of LArboç was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 75 minutes, R. Plancq came on for P. Skwarło. N. Pulpeiro wanted to play on, but the LArboç coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 77 minutes into the game by H. Eikeland. M. Pittaluga neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to J. Grijalvo who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post. It took several tries, but Demonios managed to break through on the left after 86 minutes, getting the ball to E. Larrain who easily reduced the lead to make the score 2 - 4. LArboç had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

P. Escurriola performed admirably for Demonios. C. Drieghe on the other hand, had a terrible day. LArboç's best player was D. Filip. J. Zeppelin turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
