Maconi's shot from the left 12 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The crowd was on its feet 35 minutes into the match, as Miànigues's T. Gkitonas found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Bik got himself booked. The manager of Atl.VilardeVacas was not happy. The corner kick from F. Kuncze was powerfully met by the head of L. Cantoña to make the score 2 - 1. After 39 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Morend gave the Miànigues supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1. The players of Miànigues now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Miànigues solidified their lead at the 42 minute mark, as M. Gitzinger dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Miànigues's M. Gitzinger increasing the lead to 5 - 1. Halftime score was 5 - 1. Miànigues had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why G. Maconi found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Miànigues managed to extend their lead to 6 - 1 when D. Fernández cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Atl.VilardeVacas, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Atl.VilardeVacas certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but G. Maconi just wasn't able to finish. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. F. Warren squirmed through their central defence after 68 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 1. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Miànigues to 8 - 1 as J. Morend finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After 76 minutes, L. Cantoña put Miànigues ahead 9 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. S. Wagstaetter had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper B. Rubio was simply unbeatable. T. Gkitonas wanted to play on, but the Miànigues coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 80 minutes into the game by R. Ardaña. F. Kuncze became the new Miànigues captain. Miànigues claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
