(382889202)

07-07-2012 14.00
43377 spectators had come to
La Encerrona this cloudy day.
Juan Jesús Azagra was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juan Enrique Peris and
Franklin Pellegrini.
Chedar had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Corbetta - Matković, Rothskog, Saracina - Zumárraga, Adolfsson, Ybarra Moreno, Jarolímek, Abel - Beton, Frigoli.
Pamboli decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Bakken - Monzón, Castelain, Villaño, Prais - Filliger, Ikkersheim, Elola, Ardila - Levajkovski, Alberro.
For their match strategy, Pamboli had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
As
H. Castelain had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Pamboli player a red card without batting an eyelid.
They were singing the praises of
C. Zumárraga 28 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Chedar.
The corner kick from
L. Elola was powerfully met by the head of
R. Ikkersheim to make the score 1 - 1.
Pamboli's
D. Villaño left the field after 32 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
T. Klanggård.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
Chedar claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.
Many thought
C. Zumárraga ought to have been awarded a penalty 47 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
M. Bakken after a determined run through the middle.
After 61 minutes, the Pamboli coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
L. Elola off the field.
J. Penninckx took his place.
T. Klanggård was handed the Pamboli captain's armband.
Chedar had to make a substitution after 64 minutes.
M. Corbetta limped off the field and was replaced by
C. Esquinas.
Chedar's
G. Frigoli tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
Chedar's
Á. Ybarra Moreno refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 67 minutes.
G. Abel's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert
A. Beton was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Chedar. 2 - 1.
The Chedar players could smell victory in the air.
G. Frigoli wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
P. Boriani after 72 minutes.
As the game started to slip away for Pamboli, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Pamboli manager used a brief break in play after 73 minutes to give the players new directives.
A. Beton could have increased the lead after 74 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
S. Monzón finished off the counterattack of Pamboli from the left rather easily, making the score 2 - 2.
Chedar enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.
Most important Chedar player was
A. Beton.
On the other hand,
C. Esquinas's play was disheartening.
M. Levajkovski performed admirably for Pamboli.
However,
T. Klanggård made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 2.
