The crowd of 34089 turning up at Coliseo Tutau today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Bernard Dubel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gino Richer and Kajetan Kandybowicz. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Tutau. Starters: Spahić - Refoxos, Pita, Ronchi - Magnani, Laracha, Viñas, Romano, Casselman - Faes, Tarrés.

KALIMOTXO had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. They fielded: Ost - Palmaz, Hoogland - Madariaga Sáenz, Quadra-Salcedo, Rocco, Ulloa, Alemparte - Fritsch, Arnuero, Mendariz.

Tutau fans held their breath as D. Tarrés scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! G. Pita had a fantastic opportunity to put Tutau up another goal 17 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. C. Arnuero was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. A great save by keeper C. Ost after 27 minutes kept the visitors in the game after E. Viñas struck from the left with a real cannonball. Tutau's D. Tarrés swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Tutau's D. Tarrés saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 32 minutes. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Tutau enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

A really bad tackle inside the penalty area 49 minutes into the match gave the referee no other choice but to award the visiting KALIMOTXO a penalty. L. Fritsch knocked it home. 1 - 1 Tutau made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left M. Romano completely alone with keeper C. Ost, who made a spectacular block. With 81 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as X. Refoxos flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, KALIMOTXO's G. Madariaga Sáenz was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 82 minutes. M. Noboa was given a chance to change things around. The KALIMOTXO captaincy was handed to D. Palmaz. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave N. Ronchi from Tutau a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 83 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of KALIMOTXO, as D. Palmaz left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. D. Calderón took his place on the field. C. Ost was handed the KALIMOTXO captain's armband. Thighs bulging, J. Quadra-Salcedo charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. The visitors didn't give in and, after 88 minutes, L. Fritsch got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2. The visiting L. Fritsch was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 89 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. At that, L. Fritsch was noted down for a hat trick! 89 minutes into the game, M. Faes came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. KALIMOTXO claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

M. Faes performed admirably for Tutau. L. Casselman on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating KALIMOTXO player was without a doubt J. Quadra-Salcedo. C. Ost was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 3.
