previous 5/10 next 7/10  MofkeiSs 2 - 2 Baricoque (382898711)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 40000 had shown up at Catalunya independent for the match. Greger Kärrén was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gerwazy Wojtasik and Roeland Clignet. MofkeiSs started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. They fielded: Gröhn - Gold, Kopietz, Mentzer - Håland, Viturro, Llimona, Pecina - Gattinger, Vilis, Montiel.

Baricoque tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Rocchia - Peñalver, Trevijano, Panadeiros - Gómez de Avellaneda, Landino, Blay, Bengtsson, Vilela - Desperes, Rubio de Tejada.

Pressing was the tactic of the day for Baricoque. Baricoque took the lead 9 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. L. Bengtsson was the scorer. Given a free kick close to the byline, MofkeiSs tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let R. Montiel slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 1, 24 minutes into the game. With 28 minutes played, I. Peñalver of Baricoque fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The terraces were silenced after 34 minutes when Baricoque's R. Vilela put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. At this time in the match, Baricoque were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the MofkeiSs manager used a brief break in play after 44 minutes to give the players new directives. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

After 55 minutes, MofkeiSs used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. I. Gómez de Avellaneda wanted to play on, but the Baricoque coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by T. Cairo. MofkeiSs's R. Vilis made an attempt at equalising 71 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. MofkeiSs put pressure on the visitors' central defence 74 minutes into the game, but A. Pecina couldn't find an opening. The crowd roared in delight as R. Vilis finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for MofkeiSs 78 minutes into the match. 2 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to MofkeiSs, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Most important MofkeiSs player was M. Llimona. C. Viturro was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Baricoque player was without a doubt F. Blay. D. Desperes on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.
