TARRAGONA 1 - 2 Caplan
(382906214)

16-06-2012 14.00
The 31240 spectators at
Nou Estadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Omer Corbeij was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ante Kale and
Julien Billard.
TARRAGONA decided to use a 2-5-1 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Leal Souza - Badorf, Forcades - Olivera, Molęda, Todescato, Tut, Melvang - Hieltjes.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Caplan.
Lineup: Škorić - Oddenino, Gâlmencea, Garcia - Hansen, Oses, Zuabi, Kessels, Yükselen - Valdeón, Reichelt.
It wasn't a pretty goal, but the free kick by
S. Melvang after 2 minutes somehow found its way past the keeper. TARRAGONA takes the lead, 1 - 0!
F. Yükselen made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner.
Coming through the middle
M. Oses almost scored the equaliser for Caplan after 9 minutes, but
L. Leal Souza made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
Caplan's
B. Reichelt got himself booked for a foul.
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 21 minutes,
B. Reichelt broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
L. Leal Souza made a great block, though.
Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Caplan's
F. Yükselen put the ball in the onion bag after 22 minutes to make it 1 - 1.
37 minutes in, TARRAGONA appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
wretched.
It was 1 - 1 at the break.
TARRAGONA claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
A review of the gameplan helped TARRAGONA get back to a
inadequate organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
After 47 minutes, TARRAGONA were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
L. Tut did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
67 minutes into the game, TARRAGONA seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
68 minutes into the game,
B. Reichelt almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
It wasn't a good day at all for
S. Forcades. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day.
The visiting
D. Valdeón was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 79 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score.
83 minutes into the game, TARRAGONA had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by TARRAGONA, with 51 percent of the ball.
TARRAGONA's best player was
G. Todescato.
However,
L. Leal Souza made a disastrous appearance.
Caplan's top performer was clearly
D. Valdeón.
F. Yükselen turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 2.
