Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 32868 at EL FORTIN today. Frank Weigle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mariano Ivan Carnero and Diarmuid Mulrooney. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for ROSTOOOY. Lineup: Polyanskiy - Draskóczy, Géczy, Sköld, Gogolja, Gordon - Kanavidis, Wadsworther, Pol - Deisl, Rand.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of ROSTOOOY. An accurate cross from P. Pol of ROSTOOOY was met with a wonderful glancing header from Y. Kanavidis, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 1 - 0. ROSTOOOY's M. Géczy increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 16 minutes. 21 minutes in, Sport's F. Stolz received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The visitors got one back when V. Búchvarov finished off a pass from the left and scored after 23 minutes. 2 - 1 was the score. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of ROSTOOOY to 3 - 1 as M. Rand finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. With 29 minutes played, V. Búchvarov of Sport fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Sport enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the ROSTOOOY coach let J. Toscani replace H. Deisl after 55 minutes. After 65 minutes, ROSTOOOY felt secure enough to make a tactical change. P. Pol and V. Gordon assumed each others positions on the field. Sport kept trying to force their way through on the right side and A. Empl got his chance after 68 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. A. Clavero could've grabbed a goal for Sport 76 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. ROSTOOOY's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 77 minutes gone, but V. Gordon's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. With 78 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Sport showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 2 when A. Empl got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. After 82 minutes, M. Géczy sent the corner kick right to M. Wadsworther who headed it sharply past the keeper. 4 - 2! After this, you could see that the players of ROSTOOOY were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Sport had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

Most important ROSTOOOY player was M. Rand. However, A. Draskóczy made a disastrous appearance. Sport's best player was A. Empl. A. Clavero on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 2.
