Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for ROSTOOOY. TON clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. TON had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 19 minutes in when J. Arqué came up alone against A. Polyanskiy who managed a block. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Toscani from ROSTOOOY a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 21 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! P. Pol made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 28 minutes into the match. J. Toscani bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for ROSTOOOY. 1 - 0. TON almost scored after a counterattack 30 minutes into the match, but J. Arqué took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. ROSTOOOY's P. Pol left the field after 31 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was J. Peregrín. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 34 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but A. Polyanskiy got the best of it, blocking the shot from R. Cima. Halftime score was 1 - 0. ROSTOOOY had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

The home side's M. Géczy curled a free kick home after 50 minutes, putting ROSTOOOY ahead 2 - 0. The referee showed TON's E. Ryborg the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. ROSTOOOY were forced into a substitution as F. Snoeys couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing E. Piedrabuena to come in off the bench. After 64 minutes, E. Piedrabuena put ROSTOOOY ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. 71 minutes in, ROSTOOOY's M. Sköld received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. J. Sáenz Rivas was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so TON's P. Bosch had to come off the bench. After 74 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by M. Géczy might have resulted in another goal for ROSTOOOY. However, P. Bosch made a spectacular save. 76 minutes into the game, ROSTOOOY were awarded a penalty that M. Géczy turned into 4 - 0 without a problem. TON needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes P. Raunkjær made way for M. Cunvas. ROSTOOOY claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

ROSTOOOY's top performer was clearly M. Wadsworther. J. Peregrín was a disappointment, however. TON's best player was J. Arqué. F. Noyen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 0.
