Due to an all-day shower, 19984 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Peronopolis.
Per Dahl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Christian Genevois and
August Patałach.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Perón.
Lineup: Hild - Alexiev, Umaña, Walenkamp - Zafra-Vázquez, Pinho Sousa, Letan, Roméro, Camuso - Noblet, Demirel.
Baraka started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Rubio Rueda - Millán, Marrón, Medina Davila - Moßhammer, Vasile, Evans, Solís, Sanchírico - Wurth, Hellenurm.
É. Roméro neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to
M. Noblet who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post.
Perón's
J. Zafra-Vázquez got himself booked for a foul.
G. Hellenurm of Baraka had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
R. Søgaard came in to finish the match.
Baraka took the lead 18 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
B. Wurth was the scorer.
33 minutes into the match Baraka's
C. Vasile viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card.
Unfortunately for Perón,
N. Demirel was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
S. Bogarde replaced him.
S. Bogarde, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
Baraka's
B. Wurth made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 39 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Perón had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
After 46 minutes, Perón switched
N. Alexiev with
J. Deryck, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
S. Hild got a fingertip on
S. Solís's shot from the left 57 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal.
The crowd was on its feet 59 minutes into the match, as Perón's
N. Pinho Sousa found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser.
P. Camuso was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 68 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
J. Zafra-Vázquez, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
M. Noblet had a fantastic opportunity to put Perón up another goal 70 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Perón enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Most important Perón player was
T. Letan.
S. Hild was a disappointment, however.
S. Solís performed admirably for Baraka.
A. Marrón on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 1.
