previous 5/10 next 7/10  Baraka 1 - 4 Playafels (382917724)

24829 spectators arrived at Lasesarre Berria, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Maximiliano Erico was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Antoon Wolbrink and Gregory Briem. Baraka tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Rubio Rueda - Medina Davila, Millán, Marrón - Mureşan, Vasile, Evans, Solís, Mas - Wurth, Hellenurm.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Playafels. They fielded: de Witte - Ferreiro, Giménez, Pellny - Baynov, Rosu, Ion, Kersulić, Lorenzen - Sánchez, Ribes.

Baraka had a good opportunity to take the lead as V. Medina Davila came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of C. de Witte. Playafels took the lead 10 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. A. Ribes was the scorer. A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 21 minutes into the match, and B. Wurth was able to score, taking the scoreline to 1 - 1. Many thought G. Hellenurm ought to have been awarded a penalty 25 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around C. de Witte after a determined run through the middle. After a fine move down the middle J. Mas nearly gave the home side a goal after 33 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Baraka, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Baraka created a good opportunity to score 49 minutes into the match when B. Wurth's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Playafels's A. Ribes gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 60 minutes with a superb strike from the right. V. Ion wanted to play on, but the Playafels coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by J. Grandgirard. 69 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 3 as M. Sánchez finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After 70 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave A. Ribes a chance to increase the lead for Playafels, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4. That made three goals for A. Ribes and he was marked down for the hat trick. Playafels had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Most important Baraka player was S. Solís. On the other hand, D. Mureşan's play was disheartening. Playafels's top performer was clearly J. Grandgirard. C. de Witte on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 4.
