Clear skies welcomed the 23975 spectators who had made their way to Stylos Stadium. Robert Donachie was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Luca Steinbach and Ronny Larsen. Zarzalejos was, after 37 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper G. Revuelta made the save. The crowd roared in delight as E. Espinel finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Osaki 38 minutes into the match. 2 - 2. 2 - 2 was the score after the first half. Chanante claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Osaki had a good opportunity to take the lead as B. Altefähre came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of M. de Lope. 2 - 3 was the score with 71 minutes played, after I. Pérez cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Chanante. Chanante's P. Burgos refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 76 minutes. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, R. Zarzalejos would have put Chanante up another goal 78 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. G. Campara of Osaki seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 3 - 3 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by E. Espinel. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 81 minutes allowed R. Zarzalejos to score for Chanante. The scoreboard now read 3 - 4. Chanante's A. Iturrebaso left the field after 82 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was A. Epelde. Osaki put pressure on the visitors' central defence 82 minutes into the game, but M. Hlásznyik couldn't find an opening. After 83 minutes, Osaki's G. Revuelta fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Á. Echarte received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 84 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 3 - 5. The Chanante fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The players of Chanante now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Á. Echarte got himself booked. The manager of Chanante was not happy. Possession in this half belonged to Chanante, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Most important Osaki player was A. Myrstål. However, J. Guillem made a disastrous appearance. Á. Echarte performed admirably for Chanante. On the other hand, P. Burgos's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 5.
