Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12000 to Campa Torres. Erik Haav was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kyösti Markkula and Rosario Volpe. Atlético tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Kakita's M. Wuylens after 25 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. After 35 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for R. Fons who increased Kakita's lead to 0 - 2. The players of Kakita now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. M. Wuylens of Kakita took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 38 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. After 41 minutes, Kakita's F. Šuranský burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. With 42 minutes played, P. Orpinell nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kakita, with 89 percent of the ball.

56 minutes into the match, R. Fons came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. 57 minutes into the match, the speedy M. Wuylens easily outpaced J. Corbalán, chipped the keeper and made the score 0 - 5. This third goal completed a hattrick for M. Wuylens. After 60 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave P. Gleiss a chance to increase the lead for Kakita, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave P. Fages from Atlético a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 61 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After the ball was lifted in from the left, P. Gleiss was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 63 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 66 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Kakita's R. Fons being carried off the pitch and replaced by P. Ilasaga. F. Šuranský was, after 71 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper M. Castellblanch made the save. Some fine movement on the left led to a Kakita goal after 78 minutes, making it 0 - 7. M. Wuylens was noted down as the scorer. Kakita had most of the ball, with 90 percent of possession.

Atlético's best player was A. Zarzosa. M. Puncernau turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Kakita player was without a doubt M. Lobo Campos. J. de Silos was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 7.
