Clear skies welcomed the 26792 spectators who had made their way to Estadi Rullu's F.C.. Zdzisław Litkowiec was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lucien Nederlof and Giuseppe Raffa. The referee showed Rullus's B. Sobeck the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. J. Bech of LPC had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. T. Koçay came in to finish the match. The visiting team's F. Palamides was able to score the 1 - 1 equaliser with a header 32 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. Rullus had to make a substitution after 36 minutes. G. Santoro limped off the field and was replaced by W. Durand. LPC players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. LPC took the lead 39 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. X. Argüelles was the scorer. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
