Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 33323 to CHAO. Aksel Salumäe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Séraphin Pousset and Bartłomiej Antosz. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Galicia derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Ribasaltas had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Ribasaltas's C. Velasco tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. A well placed corner kick from G. Regí was followed by E. Ginoves's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Ribasaltas, the score now 1 - 0. Ribasaltas put in a good effort on the right, but J. Delponte saw his volley fly wide of the mark 22 minutes into the game. G. Regí should probably have put his team up another goal after 23 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by V. Peralta kept the visitors in the game. C. Velasco of Ribasaltas received a yellow card after 29 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. K. Petkov's lack of experience almost gave Ribasaltas a goal after 29 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. The home side's I. Blanch came close to extending the lead 34 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but V. Peralta managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. 35 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 1 - 1 as E. Vecchia struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Ribasaltas enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

50 minutes into the match, the Ribasaltas manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 61 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Ribasaltas fans erupted in celebration as G. Regí rifled the ball into the the top corner. 2 - 1! Ribasaltas's A. Vázquez was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 83 minutes. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Ribasaltas's D. Klein increasing the lead to 3 - 1. With 86 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, CHIPITIÑOS showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 2 when E. Vecchia got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. CHIPITIÑOS levelled the score after 87 minutes to make it 3 - 3, as V. Alpízar struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave K. Petkov from CHIPITIÑOS a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 88 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Ribasaltas made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left A. Vázquez completely alone with keeper V. Peralta, who made a spectacular block. Ribasaltas's A. Zorn got himself booked for a foul. Ribasaltas claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Most important Ribasaltas player was G. Regí. However, A. Vázquez made a disastrous appearance. CHIPITIÑOS's best player was F. Vorstandlechner. H. Amin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 3.
