After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, R. de la Venta got himself booked. The manager of Ondarruko was not happy. Ondarruko had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to G. Hackenschmied, but the Ondarruko player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Ondarruko had to make a substitution after 41 minutes. G. Bartra limped off the field and was replaced by W. de Rougemont. 42 minutes into the game LUC's A. García de Cárdenas found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Horner from Ondarruko a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 43 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! LUC took the lead after 44 minutes making the score 1 - 2. C. Guisla placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by LUC, with 53 percent of the ball.

Ondarruko needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 51 minutes P. Gil made way for M. Balk. The bench was restless, and with 56 minutes passed Ondarruko's coach gave I. Massons the opportunity the player had been hoping for. W. Bruininx reluctantly left the field. After 63 minutes, LUC's W. Dernbke burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. LUC came close to extending their lead as W. Dernbke delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 72 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. The visitors added to their lead 74 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by LUC's I. Marsellés slid just past the home keeper. 1 - 4. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, C. Guisla would have put LUC up another goal 84 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Possession in this half belonged to LUC, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

F. Doğu performed admirably for Ondarruko. M. Balk turned in a dismal performance, however. LUC's best player was J. Ooms. However, D. Español made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 4.
