30-06-2012 14.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 24762 at
HOLTER Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Damien Cohen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Viktor Dalbo and
Jan Hjelle.
HOLTER tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination.
They fielded: Stokke - Ollé, Mangelsdorff, Bigioni, Guinjoan, Soragna - Edasi, Conalos, Vazán - Leeflang, Skovgaard.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for D.B.Z..
Starters: Amsalem - Jaramillo, Macaco, Bundgaard - Waiswa, Formidero, Bonamusa, Landkvist, Camhi - Podhorný, Gallifa.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for HOLTER.
Today, D.B.Z.'s strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
J. Podhorný slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
E. Stokke, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
HOLTER almost scored after a swift counterattack 36 minutes into the game, but
G. Bigioni put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 38 minutes, but
E. Stokke made a beautiful one-handed save.
After 39 minutes HOLTER tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
G. Vazán's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
S. Skovgaard gave HOLTER the lead with a beautiful free kick after 40 minutes. 1 - 0!
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
D.B.Z. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
G. Vazán left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 50 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
J. Carmo was the replacement.
HOLTER put in a good effort on the right, but
A. Leeflang saw his volley fly wide of the mark 74 minutes into the game.
After 75 minutes, the defensive line of D.B.Z. created a counterattack through the middle that gave
F. Waiswa a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, D.B.Z.'s
K. Bundgaard was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 80 minutes.
T. Johannesen was given a chance to change things around.
G. Bigioni behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 83 minutes as he gave the ball away to
J. Podhorný. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
After 85 minutes, D.B.Z. switched
V. Gallifa with
S. Kashani, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
D.B.Z. claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
The most dominating HOLTER player was without a doubt
M. Soragna.
M. Guinjoan was a disappointment, however.
Most important D.B.Z. player was
G. Camhi.
On the other hand,
S. Kashani's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 0.
