21826 spectators arrived at
Terra de l'Empordà, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Gianfranco Panzacchi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Abdeen Nasser and
Ábel Hári.
Lucero started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Lineup: Portelli - Athlone, Wameling, van Meer - Bertho, Oviedo, Coutinho Silva, Saïd - 存祥 (Cunxiang), Lallement, Kervadec.
TOMATAUM had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Mayer - Gómez, Popa, Valverde - Sergiel, Rejent, Bakarić, Rozen, Gut - González Ríos, Bonichini.
Lucero tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of TOMATAUM's
B. González Ríos after 13 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
I. Bonichini increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when
H. Wameling tried to sneak the ball past the keeper.
J. Mayer was too alert for that!
0 - 2 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Lucero, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by TOMATAUM's
J. Bakarić put the visitors up 0 - 3 after 55 minutes.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
R. Kervadec got himself booked. The manager of Lucero was not happy.
After 64 minutes, TOMATAUM's
B. González Ríos burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4.
TOMATAUM's
M. Sergiel was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 65 minutes.
D. Gut came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
J. Portelli but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
76 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 5 as
D. Popa finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
The players of TOMATAUM now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Lucero's
B. Saïd got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 5.
Lucero claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
I. Oviedo performed admirably for Lucero.
On the other hand,
J. Portelli's play was disheartening.
TOMATAUM's top performer was clearly
I. Bonichini.
However,
D. Gut made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 5.
