A scorching day at
Me La ReFaNFiNFLaS Arena, where 20549 spectators were in place for today's match.
János Endrõdi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
José Rincón and
Pavlas Krušnauskas.
People from all over
Galicia had joined up for the derby.
ReFaNFiNFLaS decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Omidifar - Assenheim, Miladinoski, Suykerbuijck - Bredel, Deidda, Bacchini, Badajoz, Cachero - Leonavičius, Thayer.
Maravillas tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Villalba - Suosalo, Riveros Martín - Servranckx, Carol, Bakshi, Lecanda, Chun Loong - Premm, Ťoupal, Guntlin.
After 14 minutes, Maravillas put themselves up 0 - 1, as
R. Ťoupal finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
16 minutes into the game, ReFaNFiNFLaS seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
After 36 minutes of play,
J. Bredel evened things up for ReFaNFiNFLaS with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 41 minutes into the match, and
O. Guntlin wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Maravillas had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.
A review of the gameplan helped ReFaNFiNFLaS get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
55 minutes into the game, Maravillas worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
M. Leonavičius.
With the clock showing 58 minutes played,
S. Assenheim equalised for ReFaNFiNFLaS after curling a free kick around the defensive wall to make the score 2 - 2.
Maravillas took the lead after 65 minutes making the score 2 - 3.
G. Lecanda placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed ReFaNFiNFLaS's coach gave
E. Sechi the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
R. Cachero reluctantly left the field.
S. Suykerbuijck wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat.
It wasn't a good day at all for
G. Lecanda. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day.
After 78 minutes,
J. Bredel made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 3 - 3.
C. Thayer caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 81 minutes. This gave ReFaNFiNFLaS the 4 - 3 lead.
After 84 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as ReFaNFiNFLaS found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
weak.
With 85 minutes played,
R. Miladinoski could have brought this one home for ReFaNFiNFLaS as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
Maravillas enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
ReFaNFiNFLaS's best player was
M. Leonavičius.
S. Suykerbuijck on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Maravillas player was
O. Guntlin.
However,
B. Bakshi made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 3.
