Clear skies welcomed the 29329 spectators who had made their way to
Tresor Stadium.
Carlos Carneiro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Igors Vijups and
Hannes Spengler.
Sventeam had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Valgeirsson - Carnicero, Rada, Błasiak, Verberne - Tella, Morille, Cavero, Gelnhausen - Lacoste Vignalet, Rišťák.
Europa started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.

Sventeam were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 8 minutes allowed
J. Haikala to score for Europa. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1.
Europa had to make a substitution after 21 minutes.
L. Tumini limped off the field and was replaced by
F. Leprini.
G. Verberne showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Sventeam after 28 minutes to make the score 1 - 1.
Sventeam's
S. Morille was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 29 minutes.
After 33 minutes,
P. Rišťák came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving Sventeam the lead.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
P. Rišťák got himself booked. The manager of Sventeam was not happy.
With 38 minutes played, Europa's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
V. Mizin he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 2.
Halftime score was 2 - 2.
Europa had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.
Some great play up the middle by Sventeam led to a chance for
G. Verberne to score after 61 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
D. Rada of Sventeam received a yellow card after 63 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
A counterattack by Sventeam after 65 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
P. Tella, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
72 minutes into the match, Europa nearly took the lead, as
F. Dubiel broke through on the right.
D. Valgeirsson made the save, however.
After 73 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Sventeam on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
P. Rišťák to make it 3 - 2.
F. Dubiel could have made it all square after 77 minutes, if only his free kick had been a few inches to the other side of the post.
Europa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
The most dominating Sventeam player was without a doubt
A. Lacoste Vignalet.
However,
V. Cavero made a disastrous appearance.
Europa's top performer was clearly
H. Massarelli.
J. McDermott on the other hand, had a terrible day.
