04-08-2012 14.00
33225 spectators arrived at
Anduva, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Volker Fehlauer was the appointed referee.
All of
Catalunya was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
Deobriga tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Troppmair - Tatkowski, Roda, Montero - Natali, Madeira, Lyubenov, Niederauer, Vihattula - Rodeja, Garastegui.
CARMIR had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Espalter - Travesedo, Esaure, Rondón, Vélez - Pinola, Herreras, Villalar, Garrido - Magraner, Ķikusts.
Some great play up the middle by Deobriga led to a chance for
E. Tatkowski to score after 11 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
A questionable penalty 28 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as
J. Vihattula knocked the ball home.
29 minutes into the game, CARMIR seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
S. Garastegui should probably have put his team up another goal after 34 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
J. Espalter kept the visitors in the game.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
Deobriga enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
A review of the gameplan helped CARMIR get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
Deobriga put in a good effort on the right, but
S. Garastegui saw his volley fly wide of the mark 54 minutes into the game.
After 68 minutes, CARMIR were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
N. Magraner did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Undaunted, CARMIR managed to tie it all up after 73 minutes, with
V. Garrido's lucky free kick. The score was 1 - 1.
Deobriga's
I. Natali was shown a yellow card after 75 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
After 76 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as CARMIR found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
S. Garastegui was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Deobriga's
I. Lyubenov managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 2 - 1
A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in CARMIR's
V. Garrido equaliser for 2 - 2 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position.
Deobriga claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Most important Deobriga player was
S. Garastegui.
However,
B. Troppmair made a disastrous appearance.
CARMIR's top performer was clearly
N. Magraner.
On the other hand,
M. Travesedo's play was disheartening.
The match ends 2 - 2.
